Item Grief(2023-08) Collier, TaliaI wrote this on the one-year anniversary of my father's angel wings. My father liked to write poetry and I told myself I would continue to write in his honor. As I reflected on his life and processed all of my emotions on his anniversary, this poem came to my heart and mind. Many of my friends and family and the world is still grieving from so many changes and losses. It takes time to heal. It isn't an easy journey. Writing is therapeutic for me so I hope this can help heal others who also experience grief and that difficult journey. However, I hope as in the poem we all find peace with this journey and this unavoidable part of life. I want to leave with the reader that there is still hope and the feeling of hope.Item It's a C Thing(2023-08) Collier, TaliaItem Walk the Line(2022-08) Collier, TaliaThis poem is inspired by life. In today's world there are so many things that we have to process daily. Our minds have to triage the intricacies of every day decisions. People have expectations and others try to live up to those expectations. These hidden battles people face every day but in the end hopefully there is something or someone that holds us together to keep us from falling.Item What If(2023-08) Collier, TaliaMany times, in life we reflect on things in the past, present or future. Sometimes we face situations that we believe outcomes would have been different if we had done something differently. Many times, as we think through life's ups and downs, create new ideas, or try something different, "what if" is phrase that may permeate our thoughts. This poem was a reflection of a time when many situations were in my head with the "what if" pre-text. However, we realize at the end of a long day or deep thought, the "what if" really is just a phrase. Sometimes we let the "what if's" have too much power and hold us back and we have to gently remind ourselves to keep moving.
