dc.description.abstract | PLEASE TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT INSPIRED THIS WORK: I actually wrote this when we had the case of Ebola here in Dallas. I listened to an NPR piece about the stigma that Thomas Eric Duncan's neighborhood was facing, and it made me think about how racism was fueling the hysteria and how that's a bigger epidemic. I hate that almost everything in this poem is still relevant and there was very little I had to edit. | en |
