dc.description.abstract | PLEASE TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT INSPIRED THIS WORK: I've always had an uneasy relationship with my body because I am what Western society considers "skinny" or "average" but I am "fat" by Asian standards. At my lowest weight, I was also my least fit, and I wanted to express the frustrations I never felt like I could voice because I'm not fat (and I don't want to contribute to fatphobia). However, beauty standards are so limiting that they can do a number on all sorts of body types, and I wanted to share the microaggressions. | en |
