dc.descriptionIn this letter of February 25, 1942 to the Directors of the Southwestern Medical Foundation, a group of Baylor University College of Medicine faculty and alumni express their "...unqualified support in the launching and building of a new medical college in Dallas..." The Baylor College of Medicine moved to Houston in the spring of 1943, and in the summer of 1943, the Foundation opened Southwestern Medical College. Many Baylor faculty and students stayed in Dallas to join the new Southwestern Medical College.en
